The new model is much quieter unit as well. PLM14000EH 14000-BTU had some issues with noise and water drainage (for those consumers who did not use the continuous drainage function that this ac comes with). However, the new model - PC-14E overcomes all that plus provides great cooling effect for an area larger that 500 sq. ft. (I do not have too many heat sources in my apartment except frequent usage of kitchen).
