Lifesaver (or at least marriage saver) My wife loves her cats (multiple), and her dogs (also multiple); she mostly tolerates the kids and me. This winter my allergies were reaching critical mass. My wife gave me this Air Purifier for our room, as a Christmas present, and it has been amazing. One side note, the device puts out a good deal of white noise, personally, I like that, as it helps me sleep, others might find it annoying. My next step is to get them for every other room. I highly recommend this product. Update... This unit worked fine for about a year, then it just died. While it was worth the cost for the service it did provide, I was a bit disappointed in the durability. Brutally noisy, but with a catch. I returned this air purifier within 18 hours of purchasing it. Even on it's lowest setting the amount of air noise this thing generates is unbearable, especially in a 900 square foot apartment. Wait, there's more. On top of the stardard and expected noise of moving air, there's a vibrating plastic noise as well. It sounded as it the fans were not properly balanced and thus created an unavoidable and unfixable vibration. However, this might have just been my particular unit. I did run it for about 3 hours in my bedroom (with the door closed because of the noise) and when I went to bed I noticed a slight change in alergies, but due to the fact that I couldn't run it in the room while I slept, I still woke up with a stuffy nose, and itchy red eyes... Don't buy this product if you enjoy watching tv in your living room, or sleeping in your bedroom. Unbelievably Noisy, Fussy and Unstable The tower arrived and the first thing I noticed is that it was wobbly. Then the directions listed all the things you had to do for it to operate safely - a certain distance from the wall, the possibility it could stain the floor under it, could not be on an extension cord, could not be in a bathroom - which is where I wanted it so it could handle litter box odor. I continued setting it up as directed, removing the filters from the plastic, etc. Then it said to run it for a little while on high before adjusting it, so I did - I thought. After about 20 minutes, I tried turning the very noisy fan down, only to discover that it was already on the lowest setting. (I could hear it at the opposite end of the house when it was on low!) So, it makes far too much noise, is very unstable and could easily fall over if bumped, it might stain your floors, and needs to be very close to an outlet, even though it can't be against a wall. The decision is yours! FYI, I returned mine and was charged the postage for it. Good Luck!
