Inexpensive, well-built, a good buy overall4
The 3Q air purifiers have a lot going for them:

- electrostatic collector rod to get the dust (generates small quantities of ozone)
- charcoal filter to eliminate odors
- UV lamp to kill germs
- blue light night lamp
- 2 levels of operation
- easy to take apart and clean
- well built
- good price when compared with equivalent products

In fact, when compared to Sharper Image's Ionic Breeze, you get 2 units for about half the price of the higher end product. Of course, the 3Q's are a lot smaller than the more expensive item but, still, you do get more for less with the 3Q.

The only issue I have with the 3Q's operation so far is the relatively loud fan noise when compared to the Ionic Breeze which runs without a fan. It's not VERY loud but you can hear it.

One note on the 3-year warranty: forget about it. You are expected to send over the defective item at your own expense AND enclose a $20 check for it to be shipped back to you after it's fixed so, if the 3Q ever breaks you're probably better off buying a new one.

Overall rating - it's a positive 4-star.

REALLY WORKS FOR A SMALL UNIT! NO MORE EXPENSIVE FILTERS TO BUY!5
WORKS GREAT & I CAN CLEAN THE AIR CLEANER AS MUCH AS I WANT. NO MORE BUYING $100 FILTERS. THIS AIR CLEANER DOES'NT PUSH DIRTY AIR AROUND LIKE THE HONEYWELL THATS HEADED FOR THE TRASH!

RUNS QUITELY ON HIGH SPEED & HAS COOL BLUE NIGHT LIGHT. I CAN TELL IT WORKS WHEN I PULL THE RODS OUT TO CLEAN THEM, AMAZING HOW MUCH BAD STUFF IS IN THE AIR & MY HOUSE IS VERY CLEAN, DUSTED TWICE A WEEK & VACUUMED ALMOST DAILY.

Not worth the money...it doesn't work2
These units were a huge disappointment for me. I purchased 4 of them (2 were for myself and the others were for a family member). I had high hopes and expectations due to the other glowing reviews. Here's why these "air purifiers" get 2 stars from me:

1) I've had these units for a little over 3 weeks and one of them has already quit working!! It will not turn on at all. I've checked everything there is to check and it's definitely the unit that has broken.

2) Granted I am someone who keeps up with cleaning the house, you practically have to have a magnifying glass just to see one speck of dirt on the electrostatic plate after having the unit running continuously this whole time (almost 3 weeks). With most air purifiers, you have to clean the rod once every 7-10 days because it collects so much debris, germs, etc. from the air you breathe. I thought maybe I just got unlucky and received a couple of bad units but it turns out my family member's purifiers are behaving the exact same way. On top of that, hers actually interferes with the television signal so she can't use it in the living room regardless of where she places it.

3) Air purifiers are supposed to help people with allergies and the like breathe easier right? Apparently not with the 3Q Air Purifiers. This is the main reason I bought these. I suffer from asthma/allergies pretty badly and the doctors recommended purifying the air. It hasn't helped one single bit. In fact, I performed a test just to see what this unit was "sucking in" from the air. I have friends/family that come over and smoke occasionally in my home and I had them blow that smoke directly at the vents on this unit. It didn't even pick up/pull in the smoke! It just continued to drift in the air as if there was no purifier to be found.

4) The unit feels cheap. It's extremely lightweight plastic that it's made out of so it doesn't feel durable at all. It's nice to have a purifier that doesn't weigh a ton for people who can't lift heavy objects but this just feels like you purchased it from the dollar store.

5) They're very small - too small I think. Being compact is one thing but I don't feel a unit of this size could perform well (if at all) in a room that is of average size or bigger. The rooms I had them in were quite large and perhaps that's part of the problem but nowhere on their product description does it list room size limits.

**A side note regarding another con is that it took quite a while for the package to arrive. I don't know if it was just delayed shipping or UPS' mistake but it was about 2 weeks + getting here.

The only reason I gave these 2 stars instead of 1 is because the idea is good: a 3 in 1 unit. I don't know how effective the UV light really is but it's a nice thought. Its fans are also pretty quiet. Compared to other air purifiers, these are much more inexpensive. However, I'm starting to think the saying is true "You get what you pay for." And when something doesn't work - even if you paid much less in comparison, it still seems like an awful lot when you don't have anything to show for it.

So, I don't know what caused the other reviewers' units to work but what I do know is that neither mine or my family member's did. I'm extremely disappointed with both this company and their product. I hope this review helps someone. I wish I had better things to say.
